Hello and Thank You for stopping by TerrysThoughts, my personal blog about continuing to refine our purpose and working towards reaching our better self during our retirement years. Although, I have chosen to reference this phase of life as the ‘Encore’ phase.

I was born and raised in a steel town in western Pennsylvania, (Midland), northeast of Pittsburgh, located along the Ohio River, surrounded by amazing and loving Family and Friends! I have been living in Indianapolis for 45 years with my Wife, (Denise), and our Children, (Justin and Kristin). Justin and Kristin are both married, (Justin and Angi) and (Kristin and Devin). Both have Families and we are blessed with 5 GrandChildren, (Roman, Leo, Trevin, Kaia and Silas). Thankfully, Everyone also lives within the Indianapolis area so we are grateful to have our Families close -and- we have the pleasure of watching our GrandChildren grow-up.

I spent 44 years in the insurance industry working for (3) major property and casualty insurance companies, an insurance industry network and technology solutions provider and finished my career working for a major insurance broker prior to my retirement in 2022. I served in several management positions providing the business units with technology and processes solutions for improving the efficiencies of the distribution management life cycle with the agents/brokers. I also had the unique honor severing on several industry committees, advisor groups and special task forces responsible for developing and delivering data communications standards, solutions and processes to the insurance industry. I also had the distinguished honor serving as the Chairperson of a major industry committee.

My hope is the experience I encounter transitioning to the ‘Encore’ phase of life and sharing my thoughts, activities and insights with you will in some way assist you with your transition to a new phase of your life and permit you to pursue the things you love to do and relax with the people you love during your ‘Encore.’
