Hello -and- Thanks for taking a moment to spend a little of your time to stop by ‘Terry’s Thoughts,’ it is always appreciated!
My Son’s Friend, (Casey Grisez), has a blog; ‘Casey’s Notes.’ -and- You should consider checking it out. In one of his stories, Casey included a quote from Emily Dickinson that I thought I would share as it is very apropos; “Forever is made up of nows.” Rather than wait for forever, let’s embrace our now.”
Our Encore phase can serve as a gentle nudge, reminding us of the preciousness of every moment. This phase urges us not merely to exist but to truly live, to seize each day, moment and extract its full potential. It’s saying don’t let a new day come and go without springing forward with it—not just meeting it, but making something of it.
Nothing wrong with acknowledging what You have created is YOU and remaining where You are as long as that is truly YOU and consistent with your core values and beliefs which make You unique.
No need to attempt keep searching for what’s next as long as the sense of adventure remains a part of your life’s journey and seeking change for those parts that need adjustment.
The goal is to build a life You don’t need to escape from. Where peace isn’t something You chase, but something You live everyday.
Living purposefully is all about taking small steps, day by day, to be at your best for the people and things that matter most to You. And when You stay on this positive path, there’s no limit to what You can do.
Let go of rigid expectations and respond with curiosity and creativity… make space for new ways of thinking of your future and for your personal growth.
It’s not about settling in or continuing to chase (something). It’s more about embracing life for what it is, realizing that you’ll someday wish You could go back to today. One of my favorite quotes is from GE’s legendary CEO Jack Welch: “Face reality as it is, not as it was or as you wish it to be.” For our purposes, I’d paraphrase it to say, Embrace life, love life, as it is, not as it was or as You wish it to be.
In retirement, we are given the rare gift of time. And how You choose to spend that time can shape our experience of this new phase in life.
So, take the time to craft a routine that truly resonates with You. Make it meaningful, make it enjoyable, make it yours. Because at the end of the day, retirement is about living life on your terms.
Continue stepping forward in our Encore phase with enthusiasm and eagerness -and- please continue to take care of yourself, make the most of your days -and- always remember;
“Never quit searching, never settle and never give up seeking your greater purpose!“
