Hello -and- Thanks for taking a moment to spend a little of your time to read my article… it is always appreciated!

Energy is the fuel that will drive the quality of our life in the Encore phase. Research consistently shows that retirees thrive when they stay physically active, socially connected and engaged in something meaningful.

Retirement is not a time of life to settle. We should continue to evaluate our life and realize that there is always another level to aspire to reach. We might live below what we are capable of and coast through life with plenty of justifiable excuses to validate our shortcomings. We may have fallen victim to this during our career life. However, that is not how to live our best Encore!

Imagine what life looks like if we do everything we should be doing; eating well, sleeping well, managing our stress, exercising, spending time with good people, avoiding the drama and those that create it -and- living with purpose doing what we love/enjoy doing?

What can stand in our way in this retirement time are the in between moments. The lulls. The waiting.

What we do with these moments is crucial to defining our future.

For many of us, these brief windows are instantly filled with “busy idleness”—we get occupied by mindless and meaningless distractions.

Because these in-between moments? They’re not insignificant. They are our life!

It’s time, we won’t ever get back. So use it wisely and to your benefit. Because it adds up, shaping not just our days but our lives.

I would like to offer three areas for us to focus upon to assist with becoming the best version of ourself -and- have a fulfilling and enjoyable Encore time:

Comfort:

-understanding our needs and creating a living within a budget that allows us to live comfortably and be prepared for the unexpected changes in life to maintain the desired lifestyle we choose without undue stress or worry about expenses

Clarity:

– having a clear understanding of your retirement goals, including when we want to retire, what our needs will be

– involves having a plan for managing our finances and investments to achieve our goals

– how to spend our time (don’t allow others to consume our time)

Control:

– refers to having the freedom and flexibility to make choices about our retirement, including how we spend our time, where we live and what activities we pursue

Our success will be determined by how at peace we are with ourself. Our life must be aligned with the right purposes and priorities. Be clear on what You want from life and as we cruise through our Encore years we will enjoy our successful life even more.

Continue stepping forward in our Encore phase with enthusiasm and eagerness, please continue to take care of yourself, make the most of your days -and- always remember;

Never quit searching, never settle and never give up seeking your greater purpose!
