Hello -and- Thank You for your time to read ‘Terry’s Thoughts.’
Hope You and your Family enjoyed a Wonderful Holiday Season -and- the start to your new year is treating You well! (You deserve it!)
This new year I enter into the third year of my ‘Encore’ phase of life. As I wrote in my third article; ‘Where Does Time Go…it does not slow down in our retirement,’ I continue to turn around and find myself down the road a bit further, and now another year gone by.
2024 also marks the second year of ‘Terry’s Thoughts!’ I hope my articles have provided (some) good reading and positive thoughts around transition to a new phase of Life! I want to Thank Each of You for your support …It means so much to me!
Well, entering this third year, I am feeling quite good about where I am, the adjustments made, realizations I have accepted -and- enjoying each day’s moments more than I ever had! Biggest accomplishment: Denise has not asked me to “get back to a full time job!” (lol)
I do not begin a new year with making resolutions. If You have been reading my articles, You know I am a very reflective individual and spend some time examining my progress and assessing where I am in my journey. I begin each new year with committing to become a better version of myself. And, because I am not the same individual I was during the previous year, I can continue my growth with becoming better.
I won’t spend much time on this academic examination of the year 2024. However, I found this information on the numerology significance of the year 2024 interesting and apropos.
2024 is known as an “eight” year, since the digits add up to eight. As an “eight” year, we are to think of building, doing and creating. It is also tells us to think of unlocking our personal power; think of breaking down obstacles and think persistence and enjoying the fight.
Finally, the number eight’s symmetrical shape is associated with flow and balance. The symmetrical shape represents a link between beginning and end and how nothing is really over.
Starting my ‘Encore’ phase of life in 2021, I didn’t spend time to really consider how I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Well, maybe that’s not exactly 100%. We all have a view our retirement will mirror the experience of someone we know.
As I begin this new year I will continue my efforts of improving upon myself, enjoying what each day will present and most importantly reduce my moments of reflecting on the past and concern of the future. I will also follow this perspective; “The less energy we waste regretting the past or worrying about the future, the more energy we will have for what’s in front of us.” ( Stillness is the Key )
My first two years have pushed me to embrace each day and look to a new beginning. No matter how we may feel and no matter what the obstacles are at a given moment, remind yourself to stand up and take that small step forward. When we clear our mind of the meaningless clutter, we will hear the life-enhancing messages from our hearts.
And it appears with the “eight year” attributes and the significance of the 8, 2024 will provide us with the (spiritual) support we will need to capture our dreams!
I found this Apache Prayer quite a number of years ago and keep in my notebook for reference -and- thought this prayer to be very appropriate to begin our new year:
” May the sun bring You new energy by day. May the moon softly restore You by night. May the rain wash away your worries. May the breeze blow new strength into your being. May You walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.”
Please make the most of your days -and-
“Never quit searching, never settle and never give up seeking your greater purpose!“
