Time Of Loss…now what?

Hello and Good Day… hope You have been doing well and making the most of your days.

As always, appreciate You taking a moment to stop by ‘Terry’s Thoughts’ to read my posts! Thank You!

(*note: the article photo is the landscape looking out the front window of my Mother-in-Laws Home in Industry, Pennsylvania, (western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh area), across the Ohio River displaying the fall color change).

This post is not focusing upon my ‘Encore’ activities and experiences. It’s rather focusing on a change in our Family Life and dynamics.

On Sunday, October 8, my Wife’s, (Denise), Mother passed away peacefully. She had celebrated her 93 birthday on Saturday, October 7. She was bound and determined to make her 93 birthday. She was not ill, just tired and ready to reunite with her beloved husband, Tom, who has been gone for 14 years. She left with all 4 of her Daughters around her. Mom, You will be deeply missed -and- we know You will always be with us; as your early signs have already showed us.

Thank You for welcoming me into your Family many years ago as your Son-in-Law and all your kindness and love through the years. And of course, I will deeply miss our ‘weekly press conference calls!’ (inside joke with my Mother-in-Law).

And with death, there is the continuance of our Life we all must accept now without a loved one among us going forward. A very special continuance of Life for Denise and her Sisters was the ‘reconnection’ with each other. The 4 Sisters have been spending a great deal of time Together at the youngest Sister’s Home, (and I mean a great deal of time). It’s been special to watch them reconnect and be Together which was their Mom’s last (special) Gift to them!

When driving and listening to music, I kept hearing the Fleetwook Mac song; “Landslide.

“Landslide” is a contemplative song about the passing of time and the inevitability of change. The lyric, “Well, I’ve been afraid of changing, ’cause I’ve built my life around you,” can resonate deeply during a time of loss

I’ll leave You with the lyrics of the song, (and to truly appreciate the song, if You have not heard it before, do yourself a favor and listen to the song sung by the wonderful Stevie Nicks! )

” I took my love, I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
‘Til the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changin’ ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too

Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too
Oh! I’m getting older tooOh-oh, take my love, take it down
Oh-oh, climb a mountain and you turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down
Oh-ohh, the landslide bring it down”

Please continue to take care and make the most of your days!

Never quit searching, never settle and never give up seeking your greater purpose!
